HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress seeks a Cardiac Cath Lab Rad Tech to operate specialized radiographic equipment for cardiovascular procedures, support sterile technique, and assist physicians during invasive cases. The role requires ARRT or Texas Radiology Technologist credentials, RCIS may apply with ARRT, and BCLS/ACLS within 6 months.

Candidates should be capable of handling high-stress situations, standing long periods, and meeting on-call requirements as part of a dynamic hospital team

Formación

• ARRT and Texas Radiology Technologist license (or equivalent)
• RCIS credentialed personnel may apply if ARRT not held
• Direct supervision by a licensed practitioner is required for invasive procedures
• Must comply with state radiologic procedures laws and regulations
• Current BCLS certification is required
• ACLS certification within 6 months of employment
• Ability to perform stress EKGs or take an EKG course is preferred

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician safely performs a variety of technical procedures, utilizing specialized angiographic equipment for diagnosis of cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular disease entities; as well as for therapeutic intervention to treat disease processes. What You Will Do In This Role:

• Operates Specialized Equipment /Radiation Safety: Operates specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipmentUnderstands needs and identifies needed supplies appropriately for invasive procedures.

• Ensures supplies available for procedures.

• Employs radiation protection devices and techniques as required.

• Independently assists physician as scrub person and operates fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely.

• Understands and practices sterile technique Orients new employees as related to special procedure technologist dutiesParticipates in departmental performance improvement activities

• Fulfills assigned on call obligations.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• ARRT and Radiology Technologist – Texas Department of Health or

• RCIS

• RCIS staff members who do not hold an ARRT certification:

1. Must be under the direct supervision of a licensed practitioner credentialed for invasive procedures (e.g., Cardiologist, Radiologist, or Vascular Surgeon); and

2. Must comply with all applicable state laws, rules, and regulations governing the performance of radiologic procedures.

• Current BCLS certification required.

• Demonstrated current clinical competence, as outlined in the appropriate orientation checklist

• Maintains competency on a consistent basis (i.e. Annual Skills Checklist)

• Challenges EKG test, or takes EKG course.

• ACLS certification within 6 months of employment

• Thorough technical knowledge

Able to deal with stressful situations and to stand for long periods of time
