Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technician II to support a wide range of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You will prepare the lab, manage equipment and supplies, and ensure meticulous patient documentation with strict sterile technique.

The role involves training and mentoring junior staff, collaborating with physicians and the Cath Lab team to maintain patient safety and departmental efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree preferred in cardiovascular tech, radiologic tech, or healthcare-related field.
• 2 years of Diagnostic/Interventional Radiology or Cath/EP Lab experience required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS within 6 months if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cath lab, equipment, and supplies with sterile technique.
• Document patient data accurately and maintain quality records.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Train and precept junior technicians and technologists.
• Ensure equipment operability and optimal room configuration for procedures.
• Collaborate with the Cath Lab team to ensure patient safety and efficiency.

Education

Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or a healthcare-related field preferred

2 years of Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology, or Cath/EP Lab experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Tools

Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)

Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE)
