Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to provide, coordinate, and evaluate patient care within the nursing process. You will assess patients, plan and implement treatments, and educate patients and families in collaboration with the care team.

The role requires current RN license, 1 year telemetry/CCU experience, and willingness to participate in on-call coverage for STEMI and emergencies. EPIC EHR is used; BLS/ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
• ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred)
• CCRN Critical Care Registered Nurse (preferred)
• PCCN Progressive Care Certified Nurse (preferred)
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
• RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (preferred)
• RCES Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
• Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures.
• Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination across hospital departments.
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement initiatives in the department.
• Functions independently in the role of scrub nurse and circulator.
• Participates in on-call for emergency procedures on weekends, nights, and holidays; responds to STEMI calls within 30 minutes.
