Job summary

Parkwest Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab to provide expert nursing care during invasive cardiac procedures. The role sets up electrical/hemodynamic transducers, records data, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Requires three years of cath lab experience, TN RN licensure, and ACLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of Cath Lab experience required with knowledge of structural heart and electrophysiology.
• Valid TN RN license with ACLS and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for catheterization procedures by preparing entry site and draping patient; calibrates and sets up pressure transducers.
• Obtains and records hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data using transducers and fluoroscopic equipment.
• Attends to patient needs during cardiac studies and coordinates care with the team.
• Develops and contributes to a plan of nursing care for the patient.
• Administers IV and oral medications as prescribed.
• Assists in collecting arterial/venous blood samples and respiratory gases.
• Precepts/trains new staff in catheterization and electrophysiology techniques.
