Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System in Florida is seeking an RN for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. This full-time daytime role focuses on planning and delivering patient care using nursing processes across the perioperative and cath lab workflow.

Responsibilities include preop assessment, medication administration, patient monitoring, and post-procedure discharge planning while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure in Florida or Multi-State eNLC; active and in good standing.
• American Heart Association BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications active.
• 1 year of adult/pediatric RN experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver nursing care using assessment, implementation and evaluation.
• Oversee the care plan in collaboration with the team and uphold Magnet standards.
• Administer and reconstitute medications per policy; follow six rights of medication administration.
• Collaborate with ICU, Child Life, Med-Surg and others for daily care planning.
• Monitor patient status during procedures; notify physician of any changes and take action.
• Prepare medications for surgical field and assist during emergence and extubation.
• Ensure consent, time-out, and advance directives are properly completed.
• Document in EMR accurately and reconcile charges per hospital policy.
• Communicate with patients and families about plan of care and discharge planning.
