Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform physiological and radiological duties in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Responsibilities include patient preparation, image acquisition, and equipment calibration in a high-demand clinical setting.

The incumbent will demonstrate knowledge of radiographic techniques, patient safety, and use of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment while adhering to regulatory standards and VA policies.

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) certification required by ARRT.
• Associate degree or certificate in radiologic technology accredited by JRCERT or recognized by DOE.
• English language proficiency required by VA standards.

Responsibilities

• Receives patients, explains the procedure, positions the patient, and adjusts equipment.
• Determines technical factors, positioning, and angulation to obtain optimal views.
• Performs calibrations on pressure transducers and maintains records for accuracy.
• Ensures radiation protection standards and safety procedures during procedures.
• Maintains PACS and basic computer skills; documents patient information and plan of care.
