Special Requests: RTO is due at time of submission and approval will be based on facility needs. Any candidate that has 7+ days and/or includes holiday RTO will have to be submitted to the facility for approval and can delay the process. Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November; peak August-September). If unavailable for emergency response duties, please do not confirm new assignments or extensions during this period. If your start date is within 90 days, you must complete all labs within 72 hours of signing an offer with MUSC.

Unit Details

Adult and geriatric patient population. Diagnostic and interventional coronary and vascular cases including angioplasty, shockwave, temp pacer, IABP, Impella, carotid angiogram, atherectomy, IVUS, FFR/IFR, pericardiocentesis, and cardiac biopsies. Daily caseload per tech: 4 to 5 labs per day with 2-3 CVT per lab. Case load is around 20-25 cases per day.

Shift & Scheduling

Rotating 4x10 day shifts (0700-1730 and 0930-2000), but varies as staff stay until procedures are complete. All team members rotate the shifts, but not from day to day; 0930-2000 shifts are grouped together into one week for consistency, and the following week may be on first shift. Call required: one weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) per 7 weeks and a call shift and evening shift every week. Call requirements may change based on staffing needs. Holidays as needed.

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
