Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a per diem Radiography support role in the Cardiac Cath Lab. You will provide imaging services under supervision and assist with basic radiographic duties while gaining hands-on experience.

The position requires enrollment in a Radiography program and a temporary student radiography license within 30 days of employment, plus BLS within 90 days. Per diem schedule, 8:00 to 16:30, on-site at Owensboro.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required upon hire.
• Currently enrolled in a Radiography program is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation and verify identity, explain procedures and position patients for exams.
• Assist technologists with routine imaging, set up rooms, prepare supplies and position equipment.
• Follow ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure for patient, self and others.
• Document patient information accurately.
• Assist physician in imaging procedures as needed.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope and regulations.
• Transport patients to imaging areas when needed.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA and organizational policies.
