Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Olathe seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) Shift Supervisor for the Cardiac Cath/EP Lab. The role supports clinical and administrative leadership, mentors staff, and ensures quality patient care across the unit.

Responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, and upholding safety standards while collaborating with physicians and the nursing team to optimize throughput and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• BSN preferred; 3+ years nursing experience.
• Current RN license in KS or MO, or multi-state compact.
• NCL (Nurse Compact License) within 60 days of hire is required.
• BLS, ACLS, TNCC and PALS as indicated by clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervisory planning, organizing, directing, coordinating activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards (JCAHO, CMS, IHI, CAP).
• Develop staffing schedules and manage department budgets and resources.
• Mentor staff and perform performance management; support education and training.
• Foster a safe, respectful environment and address patient/family concerns promptly.
