Responsibilities

• Develop and implement action plans to improve department performance.
• Meet or exceed departmental financial goals and objectives.
• Provide direct patient care or assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
• Enforce policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice; adjust staffing as required.
• Participate in handling complaints and ensuring timely follow-up prior to discharge.
• Plan and review staffing with nursing personnel to ensure adequate coverage.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and report to DON/CNO.
• Participate in staff interviews, hiring decisions, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate education, committees, and interdisciplinary projects to meet educational needs.
