Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Heart Hospital on the day shift. This full-time role supports physicians, conducts patient assessments, administers medications, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal cardiac outcomes.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, updating the EHR, and providing patient and family education. A strong clinical mind, calm demeanor in emergencies, and proficiency with EMR are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
• Basic computer and electronic medical record skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and patient assessments.
• Monitor patient conditions and record vital signs.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Administer medications, injections, and IV therapies.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and self-care.
• Document clinical information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Respond effectively to urgent and emergent patient situations.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and patient-focused environment.
