Job summary

You will collaborate with the care team, monitor patients, and contribute to safety culture while documenting in EHR and adhering to professional standards. BSN preferred; BLS required; being able to float to other units may be part of this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; state requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care using evidence-based practices.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team to affect outcomes.
• Uphold a culture of safety and continuously evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely per clinical protocols; document accurately in EHR.
• Communicate effectively, provide feedback, resolve conflicts, and delegate appropriately.
• Pursue professional development, complete required education, and maintain certifications.
• Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics and maintain ethical decision-making, respecting interdisciplinary roles.
• Delegate to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel as appropriate.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
• Provide age-appropriate care considering growth and development across the lifespan.
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation.
