Job summary

UPMC Western Maryland's Cardiac Physicians' Practice is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for dayshift, Monday–Friday. No weekends or holidays. Prior MA experience preferred, with duties spanning patient care, clerical tasks, and room preparation.

You will assist physicians, collect vitals, conduct screenings, and maintain records with HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced cardiac clinic environment. Must have high school diploma and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and procedures.
• Check schedules and organize patient flow.
• Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms and prepare rooms/equipment.
• Collect patient information and vitals; perform screenings per provider guidelines.
• Maintain patient records and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of information.
• Handle front-desk tasks: scheduling, insurance verification, and chart preparation.
