Job summary

NGFCU seeks an experienced Card Services Assistant Manager to support day-to-day operations of the Card Services Department and lead a team delivering accurate, efficient service to our members.

You will provide direction, coaching, and support to staff while assisting management with operations, employee development, fraud prevention, disputes, compliance, reporting, and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Card Services leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of debit and credit card operations, fraud prevention, and dispute processes.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state banking and credit union regulations.
  • Strong PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operational oversight of debit and credit card services and processing activities.
  • Provide direction, coaching, training, and support to Card Services staff.
  • Supervise, develop, and motivate employees, including coaching and performance reviews.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and assist with escalated issues.
  • Monitor cardholder activity to identify potential fraud and support prevention.
  • Respond to and resolve cardholder disputes in line with regulations and policies.
  • Analyze card data and trends to improve card limits and programs.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

We are seeking an experienced Card Services Assistant Manager to support the day-to‑day operations of our Card Services Department and help lead a team dedicated to providing accurate, efficient, and exceptional service to our members.

In this role, you will provide direction, coaching, and support to Card Services staff while assisting management with department operations, employee development, fraud prevention, disputes, compliance, reporting, and process improvements. You will serve as a key resource for both employees and members, helping resolve escalated issues and ensuring card operations are conducted in accordance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with the daily operational oversight of debit and credit card services and processing activities.
  • Provide daily direction, coaching, training, and support to Card Services staff.
  • Assist with supervising, developing, and motivating employees, including coaching, performance management, corrective action, and annual reviews.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and assist with escalated member and operational issues.
  • Coordinate follow-up on lost or stolen cards and fraudulent activity to help minimize losses to the credit union.
  • Monitor cardholder and dispute activity to identify potential fraud and support proactive fraud prevention.
  • Respond to and resolve cardholder disputes in accordance with applicable regulations and credit union policies.
  • Analyze card data, usage, and trends and make recommendations regarding card limits, rewards, and other card programs.
  • Oversee instant-issue card programs, expedited card orders, card stock, and related supplies.
  • Assist with monitoring card performance and identifying opportunities to improve operations and member service.
  • Assist management with departmental reporting, audits, projects, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with managing vendor relationships and resolving Card Services issues.
  • Ensure department activities are completed accurately and in compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Support management in achieving departmental and organizational goals.
  • Promote a positive, professional service culture and an exceptional experience for members and internal partners.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
