We are currently seeking a Carbide Welder for our Williston, ND location.

Purpose

Designs, fabricates, joins, and repairs equipment, fixtures, and structures using various welding techniques.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Plan and perform welding assignments, including fabrication, maintenance, joining, and cutting of ferrous and nonferrous metals using various techniques.
  2. Analyze plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence; perform welding processes such as gas, arc, brazing, silver soldering, and soft soldering on materials like stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, and exotic metals.
  3. Perform layout operations, develop fixtures, and select appropriate welding processes; operate drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes, and other equipment and hand tools.
  4. Monitor and report inventory levels; recommend supplies and materials for ordering.
  5. Perform related tasks such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching, and template making.
  6. Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, as well as brazing (carbide welding) and plasma cutting.
Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent

Work Experience: 0-2 years

Related Experience: May have experience in lieu of education or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in Welding

Work Experience: 2-4 years

Related Experience: Previous carbide welding experience; working knowledge of welding techniques.

Physical Requirements
  • Constantly: Precise hand/eye coordination.
  • Frequently: Basic keyboarding or repetitive motions, standing for long periods, reaching, lifting, bending, working in restricted positions.
  • Occasionally: Operation of heavy equipment or vehicles.
  • Frequently: Lifting/pushing objects over 50 lbs, climbing, working in awkward and cramped positions.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to work under conditions of weather exposure, bright lights, loud noise, dust, gas, fumes, and hazardous materials.
