Job summary

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Engineer to join our Carbide team on a fully on-site basis. The role focuses on converting customer specifications into designs and manufacturing plans using CAD/CAM tools, with emphasis on carbide processes.

You will collaborate with customers and internal teams to optimize production timelines and quality. Ideal candidates bring CAD/CAM proficiency, blueprint reading, and familiarity with carbide manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Solid ability to apply CAD/CAM software to engineering designs
  • High level of computer, technical, mechanical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Familiarity with carbide manufacturing and its processes, preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical processes
  • Able to work and communicate well with coworkers and customers at a professional level
  • May be asked to work an adjusted schedule to fulfill customer requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering, designing and detailing tasks using a CAD system
  • Work with customers and internal teams on design for manufacturing concepts and detailing for the carbide manufacturing processes
  • Engineer internal prints and parts according to customer specifications
  • Design internal part prints from customer designs to optimize machining effectiveness and manufacturing cycle times
  • Research and problem solve any process and part issues due to internal print designs
  • Collaborate with all internal teams and customers on improving design, efficiency and productivity to ensure the customers final product and goals are met
  • Assist with training engineers and internal employees on the carbide engineering process
  • Work closely with quotations personnel to provide technical assistance
  • Ensure all engineering documentation for each job is completed and maintained properly

What You'll Do
