Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in Hattiesburg, MS is seeking a detail technician to clean, buff, and restore vehicles to showroom condition. You will remove debris, wash, apply chemicals, and detail interiors and exteriors of cars, trucks, and SUVs.

The position requires physical effort, willingness to work in various conditions, and a valid driver’s license. EOE, including disability/vets, and eligibility to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Generally, less than 2 years' experience in a related field.
• Previous experience in detail shop or buffing helpful.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.

Responsibilities

• Clean out and de-trash interior of vehicles and remove debris from ashtrays, console, dashboard, seats and trunk.
• Remove license plates, stickers and writing from windows; disassemble spare tires.
• Wash vehicles with high-pressure washer; clean engine bay and battery terminals.
• Clean and detail exterior and interior surfaces; buff and wax painted areas.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets; ensure safety and cleanliness throughout.
• Operate and comply with safety procedures; assist with vehicle movement as needed.
