Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to join our growing team. Inspectors are the face of the company, traveling to dealerships and auctions to assess vehicle condition and document findings for our auction platform.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in the automotive field with customer service experience, strong English communication, and the ability to work outdoors. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in automobile field with customer service background.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods.
• Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while in a team environment.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
• Knowledge of system capabilities and web-based applications.
• Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.
• Ability to drive a manual and automatic transmission.
• Vision abilities to identify small defects around and underneath vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Partnering with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors, conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease to detect damage, missing parts and mechanical problems.
• Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
• Help sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and products.
• Interface regularly with dealers to develop client satisfaction and build relationships.
• Travel to and from dealerships and homes to inspect, and write condition reports for vehicles to sell on the auction platform.
• Take multiple photos and match them to a vehicle, uploading them to image server via company smartphone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles on ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize ACV Auctions digital platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
