Job summary

IBML - Imaging Business Machines in Birmingham, AL is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and support custom output modules and callout integrations for ibml Capture Suite, enabling clients to extend the platform with tailored workflows and system connectors.

You will work with domestic and international stakeholders, implementing RESTful APIs, AI-driven document processing, ML classification/extraction, OCR/ICR, and integrating with 3rd-party apps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of professional programming experience.
• Strong software design principles and best practices.
• Experience with C# development and MSSQL.
• Experience building RESTful API integrations and service-based messaging.
• Familiarity with AI-driven document processing (LLMs, ML, OCR/ICR).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to manage workload independently and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ibml software within the product ecosystem.
• Develop and integrate APIs for customer workflows and 3rd-party systems.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to enhance document processing capabilities.
• Build reliable integrations with 3rd-party applications.
• Create custom client solutions for government, finance, and enterprise.
• Collaborate to provide architectural input for new features.
• Participate in the full SDLC from requirements to deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Modify software to meet evolving client needs and hardware changes.
• Deliver projects on schedule with proactive risk management.
