Job description

Cambridge International Systems, Inc. (Cambridge) is seeking a full-time Capture and Account Manager with experience in winning and expanding strategic programs across multiple mission areas. This position is remote with some travel required.

Founded in 1994, Cambridge aims to counter threats to national security and has worked across security, surveillance, engineering, aviation services, and logistics. Our mission areas include National Security & Defense, Security Cooperation and Threat Reduction, Survivability and Resilience, Aviation and Space, and International Operations.

We seek a highly motivated Capture and Account Manager experienced with dynamic programs. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter with strong communication and analytical skills, capable of managing both the big picture and detailed solicitations.

The role involves identifying and developing opportunities, managing multiple accounts or programs, and demonstrating a successful track record with high-value opportunities, particularly in military and technical sectors such as the US Air Force (USAF) and cybersecurity. Experience with critical infrastructure, modernization, and network optimization is also valued.

The manager will be a key member of the Business Development, Capture, and Proposals (BCP) team, reporting to the Director of Account Management, and will be responsible for building relationships with USG stakeholders and industry partners, analyzing business intelligence, and developing strategic plans.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and nurturing key government relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
  2. Supporting market penetration strategies, opportunity campaigns, and partnership plans.
  3. Gathering market intelligence, forecasting demand, and preparing budgets.
  4. Reviewing accounts regularly to align services, pricing, and client needs.
  5. Representing Cambridge at industry events, both in person and virtually.
  6. Communicating progress through reports, briefings, and presentations.
  7. Analyzing RFP/RFQ/RFI documents to craft proposals and pricing strategies.
  8. Supporting opportunity scheduling and capture approaches.
  9. Understanding competitor capabilities and positioning Cambridge effectively.
  10. Leading capture efforts with facilitation, leadership, and communication skills.
  11. Developing teaming and partnership strategies to maximize success and financial outcomes.
  12. Using customer mission insights to foster relationships and understand requirements.

The role also involves pipeline development, proposal support, and internal collaboration to develop new business. Maintaining current knowledge of the government marketplace is essential for strategic planning and proposal development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) with 10-12 years of experience, or Master's Degree with 8-10 years of experience
  • Proven success in managing multiple accounts and capturing business
  • Understanding of DoD market sectors and acquisition processes
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Willingness to take on technical challenges

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior military service, US Air Force preferred
  • Cybersecurity expertise, especially incident response, security engineering, or assessment and authorization
  • International business experience
  • Familiarity with Shipley BD/Capture/Proposal processes
  • Experience with GovWin or GovTribe
  • CRM software experience

Travel Requirements:

  • Active Passport or ability to obtain one
  • Up to 30% travel, including domestic and occasional overseas trips

Work Environment:

  • Office-based, primarily sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Some travel within the local area
