Job summary

Invenergy LLC in Chicago is seeking a Manager, Insurance (Captive Management) to run day-to-day operations, reporting, and strategic planning for the captive insurance company. You will partner across Legal, Finance, Project Management, Asset Management, IT, and external providers to expand Captive use.

The role focuses on risk assessment, cost-benefit analyses, and driving insurance program structures while coordinating with accounting, tax, and treasury.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Insurance Risk Management, Engineering, or other relevant majors.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in Insurance, Risk Management, or Finance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Leverage relationships with insurance brokers, reinsurers, and fronting agents to identify captive structures and compare policy terms.
• Perform risk assessments and cost-benefit analyses of captive placements vs market placements.
• Prepare investment committee presentations for new captive products and gain stakeholder buy-in.
• Coordinate with Accounting, Tax, Treasury for financial/operational record-keeping.
• Oversee insurance and reinsurance applications and policy documentation.
• Oversee premiums billing, collateral requirements, and reserve/IBNR management.
• Support claims management and regulatory submissions.
• Assist with board meeting preparations and other insurance responsibilities.
