Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks experienced Captains to lead our U.S. flag fleet, operating on inland and coastal waterways across the East Coast, Alaska, Great Lakes, and major river systems. Captains serve as master mariners, ensuring safe navigation and exemplary guest service.

These roles emphasize leadership, rigorous training, and adherence to regulatory standards while representing the company in a professional manner aboard modern ships designed for comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• USCG Master license with Near Coastal endorsement; 100 GRT minimum, 1,600 GRT+ preferred.
• TWIC card required.
• Experience commanding vessels on coastal and river routes; 2+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure passenger, crew and vessel safety and security.
• Operate vessel in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Conduct docking, anchoring and routine maneuvering.
• Lead deck officers and oversee Shipboard Engineer.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in delivering five-star guest service.
