Job summary

The State of Missouri's Capitol Police is seeking a Capitol Police Officer to protect the Capitol Complex and state buildings in Cole County. You will patrol, investigate, issue citations, prepare reports, and respond to emergencies as part of a 24/7 operation with a community policing focus.

Qualifications include a Missouri Peace Officer License or POST certification and a valid driver’s license; a comprehensive background and medical screening are required. Generous benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Missouri Class A or B Peace Officer License.
• POST certification required.
• Valid Missouri driver’s license required.
• Background, medical, vision, drug screen and psych eval as prescribed.
• Ability to pass background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection for persons and property within Capitol Police jurisdiction.
• Patrol, detain, investigate, and make arrests for violations of state laws.
• Prepare reports of law and security regulation violations.
• Operate intrusion and fire alarm systems and respond as needed.
• Enforce parking regulations and assist during evacuations and events.
• Respond to radio calls and conduct investigations, interviews, and evidence collection.
