Job description

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide police services, including knowledge of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, Vehicle Code, and Rules of Criminal Procedure.
  2. Exercise arrest powers and use physical force as needed.
  3. Conduct patrols (mobile, foot, bicycle), investigations, crowd control, and building security.
  4. Complete reports, solve problems, and maintain certifications.
  5. Perform physical activities such as running, climbing, and enduring various weather conditions.
Additional Details:
  • Full-time employment with schedule to be determined.
  • No telework option.
  • Starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of the Capital Police Officer Trainee program or an equivalent law enforcement training/certification.
  • Active motor vehicle license.
  • At least 21 years old at application.
  • Active Act 120 certification prior to appointment and maintained during employment.
  • Meet PA residency requirements.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass background, medical, drug, psychological, and physical agility tests.
