Job summary

The Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE), seeks an engineer to contribute to study, design, construction, rehabilitation, inspection and testing of structural systems across historic and mission-critical buildings. The role involves coordinating project lifecycles and developing requirements for renovations and new construction.

The selectee may serve as a Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) or equivalent on construction projects, supporting

Qualifications

• OPM qualification requirements for GS-12/GS-13 levels and specialized experience.
• Experience with complex, monumental, historic buildings and related facilities.
• Ability to coordinate and oversee project lifecycles including planning, design, construction, commissioning and close-out.

Responsibilities

• Study, design, construction, rehabilitation, inspection and testing of structural systems and components.
• Work on building frames, foundations, tunnels, retaining structures, vibration-sensitive elements and blast-resistant components.
