Job summary

KBR seeks a Director of Legislative Affairs to lead congressional engagement and advance priorities across defense, intelligence, homeland security, space, and federal civilian markets. The role reports to the VP, Government Relations and Executive Branch Affairs and interacts with Members of Congress and staff to support strategic objectives.

The position requires deep knowledge of legislative processes, federal budgeting, and appropriations, with a focus on bipartisan collaboration, policy

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of experience in legislative affairs, government relations, congressional affairs, public policy, or related fields.
  • U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Experience working with Congress on defense, intelligence, homeland security, federal civilian, space, NASA, NOAA, State Department, or related national security issues.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting authorization and appropriations matters within the U.S. Congress.
  • Experience working for or with federal agencies, congressional offices, defense contractors, trade associations, or similar organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage congressional networks and KBR's Washington relationships to advocate for priorities across national security, intelligence, defense, and space.
  • Build bipartisan relationships with Members of Congress, staff, and committees responsible for defense, appropriations, NASA, NOAA, and homeland security.
  • Represent KBR before Congress to advance legislative priorities and protect business interests.
  • Develop and execute legislative engagement strategies aligned with government relations goals and metrics.
  • Monitor and report on congressional activity that may impact KBR's business and strategic priorities.
