Job summary

SimIS Inc. seeks a Congressional Liaison Officer to represent our clients on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., coordinating with Members of Congress and staffers on defense priorities and NATO-related policy.

This 100% onsite role requires strong government relations experience and strategic engagement across departments. The candidate will monitor budget processes, reforms, and debates, delivering briefings and reports to support ACT and NATO initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Economics, or related field.
• Five years of experience with or within the U.S. Congress, especially on defense and foreign policy.
• Proven track record in government relations and managing a legislative portfolio.
• Excellent communication with elected officials and staff, both written and oral.
• Ability to coordinate across departments to convey messages on Capitol Hill.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze the U.S. defense budget process and NATO implications.
• Track Congressional defense reforms and impact on NATO transformation.
• Provide strategic reporting on debates on Ukraine and Euro-Atlantic security.
• Assess budget issues related to U.S. troop presence in Europe.
• Analyze political dynamics of defense legislation and key influencers.
• Plan informal engagements with legislators and staff to raise ACT visibility.
• Coordinate with U.S. agencies, NATO missions, and allied embassies.
• Produce regular reports for ACT and NATO priorities.
