Job summary

Talon Metals Corp. is seeking a Superintendent, Procurement and Contracts to lead owner-side procurement, contracting, and commercial management for capital and exploration projects.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Project Controls, the role ensures alignment with grant funding obligations and the EPCM delivery model. The ideal candidate combines strong commercial judgment with practical project experience, maintains auditable procurement practices, and collaborates across Project

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive procurement, contracts, or commercial management experience on major capital projects.
• Mining, minerals processing, or other heavy-industry environments preferred.
• Experience in Owner/EPCM/EPC delivery models and strong commercial accountability is preferred.
• Experience leading complex negotiations and evaluating contract changes, claims, and settlements.
• Knowledge of different contracting models (lump-sum, unit-rate, reimbursable, equipment supply, services).
• Residency (or willingness to move) to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement, contracts, and commercial management activities for capital projects.
• Develop and implement project procurement and contracting strategies aligned with the execution plan.
• Oversee EPCM procurement, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract administration.
• Review and challenge EPCM recommendations on contracting strategies and awards.
• Ensure compliance with federal funding requirements and audit-ready documentation.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Project Management, Engineering, and construction teams.
