Job summary

Hydro Aluminium Metal in North America seeks a Project Manager to lead capital and process-improvement projects across the aluminum value chain, from feasibility through design, execution and completion.

You will coordinate with plant operations, engineering, procurement and external contractors, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining strict HSE compliance throughout all project phases. Travel up to 30-50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline.
• 5 years hands-on experience with a progressive organization managing projects.
• Relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process operations.

Responsibilities

• Define project tasks, resource requirements, and staffing plans.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation (scopes of work, specifications, contracts, change orders).
• Coordinate equipment selection, procurement, and vendor management with stakeholders.
• Track and report progress, risks, issues, and mitigation plans to leadership.
• Manage onsite execution, including coordination of contractors, deliveries, installation, commissioning, and start-up.
• Ensure onsite logistics are planned (site readiness, staging, delivery scheduling).
• Conduct close-out activities, including punch lists and lessons learned.
