Job summary

City of West Sacramento is seeking a decisive Capital Improvement Manager to lead the Capital Projects Department. This role owns the full lifecycle of capital projects, from budgeting to close-out, and reports to the Director of Capital Projects.

You will manage a broad portfolio including city facilities, streets, and infrastructure while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery. The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking with hands-on project management, fosters collaboration across City

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, finance, planning, or related field.
• Five years of progressive public administration or capital improvement experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and oversees budgeting, scheduling, and construction of city infrastructure projects.
• Develops department goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
• Coordinates department activities with other City departments and public agencies.
• Directs development of department work plans and CIP budget.
• Leads development of the Capital Improvement Program and budget.
• Reviews CIP requests during the annual budget process.
