Job summary

LAPP is seeking an experienced engineer to own capital projects from scope through startup. You will draft charters, build schedules, control costs, and lead procurement for automation and process upgrades.

The role requires strong leadership across Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Finance, with a safety-first mindset. Expect to manage facility expansions, utilities upgrades, and plant layouts with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing setting with projects > $500,000.
• Fluency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and PM tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
• Financial acumen across capital justification, P&L impacts, and variance tracking.
• Top-tier communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
• Proven leadership across Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Finance.
• Safety-first mindset aligned to OSHA; quality-driven, accountable, and productivity-focused.
• English proficiency in reading, interpreting drawings, and presenting to audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own capital projects from scope and budget through installation and startup.
• Draft charters, build schedules, control costs, and de-risk timelines with mitigation plans.
• Analyze equipment lifecycle ROI and lead procurement/integration of automation and process technologies.
• Drive facility expansions, utilities upgrades, and plant layout improvements with architects, contractors, and cross-functional partners.
• Plan and execute shutdowns and overhauls to minimize downtime with detailed planning.
