Job summary

NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator to lead scope development and verification for line and capital improvement projects within the Capital Plan Management Department.

You will coordinate with project teams, consultants, and the Department of Education to ensure feasible scopes, credible budgets, and timely funding approvals. This Civil Service role offers strong benefits and career growth in New York City.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time experience in city planning, urban development, engineering, architecture or related field.
• Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred or NYS licensure as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.
• US work eligibility; no visa sponsorship currently offered.

Responsibilities

• Participates in recommending policy and procedure on scope development of line and capital improvement projects.
• Conducts scope development activities through preliminary design, budget preparation and approval for line projects.
• Participates in consultant selection and fee negotiation.
• Reviews milestone submissions and estimates.
• Prepares and submits funding request documents.
• Secures final funding approvals.
• Verifies capital funds eligibility and proper allocation against funding categories.
• Manages budget and reporting for capital improvement projects.
