Job summary

Charter Steel is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Capital Projects to lead the full lifecycle of capital investments across the company's facilities. You will own projects from definition and budgeting through execution, commissioning and closeout, with accountability for scope, schedule and cost.

Location options include Cleveland, OH or Saukville, WI, with an average travel of 40% to Charter Steel sites.

Qualifications

• Seven plus years’ experience in operational management with direct project management responsibility.
• Experience coaching and influencing others to achieve results.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record leading multiple capital projects through full lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, justification, design and execution of capital projects.
• Act as engineering lead within operations and engineering teams.
• Develop and validate financial business cases (ROI/NPV).
• Coordinate with Plant Project Managers and contractors to deliver solutions.
• Lead cross-functional teams and influence decisions across the organization.
• Manage complex Greenfield, Brownfield, expansion and relocation projects from concept to startup.
