Sun Recruiting - The Chemical Specialists seeks a Project Manager/Coordinator to lead capital and debottlenecking projects in a safety-focused chemical plant environment in Houston, TX. You will report to the Plant Manager, coordinate contractors and turnarounds, and manage scope, schedules, and costs to ensure successful project close-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including leadership of capital and debottlenecking projects in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment.
• Experience developing project scope, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules from project definition through implementation and close-out.
• Strong vendor and contractor management experience, including bid evaluation, contract coordination, cost control, and invoice review.
• Experience coordinating turnarounds or major capital projects while supporting day-to-day contractor needs.
• Ability to align Process Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, vendors, and contractors across the full project lifecycle.
• PMP or a similar project management certification is preferred.
• Polymerization experience would be a huge plus.
• Local Houston-area candidates preferred; travel is less than 10%.
