The County of San Luis Obispo's Public Works Department seeks a Capital Projects Inspector to join the team. Under direction, the inspector provides inspection services for capital improvement, facility construction, and remodeling projects, and assists in project coordination.
This role requires reviewing plans, conducting field inspections, and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and engineers; you must hold a California driver’s license and have a related degree and experience.
The County of San Luis Obispo's Public Works Department is looking for a Capital Projects Inspector to join our team. Under direction, Capital Projects Inspectors perform inspection services for County capital improvement, facility construction, and remodeling projects; assists in capital project coordination activities; and performs other related work as required.
A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field,AND;
Either A:Four years of experience in building design, construction management, or construction inspection.
OR B:Two years of experience performing duties equivalent to the Associate Capital Projects Coordinator classification.
This classification requires driving as an essential job function. A valid California driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
An initial application review will be conducted. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and are best qualified will be invited to participate in selection activities which may include online assessments, performance exams, written exams, and interviews.
