Job summary

Solid Power, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Manager of Capital Projects Engineering to lead the Capital Project Engineering team as we scale electrolyte production to mass manufacture. This role will own end-to-end delivery of capital projects and drive safety and reliability across sites.

You will mentor engineers, manage budgets and timelines, and coordinate with vendors and contractors to deliver on time and within scope; a strong emphasis on equipment design, P&IDs, and documentation is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering required.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience in capital projects and project lifecycle management.
• Experience with hazardous area classification and high hazard environments.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of capital project engineers; include hiring and performance management.
• Own end-to-end delivery of capital projects from concept through design, procurement, installation, commissioning and handoff to operations.
• Develop, manage, and forecast project budgets, schedules, and cash flows; report variances to executives.
• Manage vendor, OEM, and contractor relationships; RFQ development, technical bid evaluation, and site oversight.
• Drive the SP2.5 capital project through acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup.
• Establish engineering standards, design specifications, and documentation across sites.
• Report project status, risks, and mitigation plans to executives through steering committees.
• Ensure safety processes and process hazard analysis are implemented.
