Job summary

Hood Container Corporation in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Project Engineer to support capital improvement projects, process optimization, and equipment reliability initiatives across our corrugated manufacturing ops. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, production, and safety teams to boost plant performance and reduce costs.

You will identify opportunities, develop technical solutions, manage projects from concept to completion, and help ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering.
• 2–7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Data analysis and practical problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of capital projects from concept through completion.
• Prepare engineering designs, equipment specifications, budgets, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Lead equipment upgrades and process improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate vendors, contractors, and internal teams during project implementation.
• Evaluate production processes and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve throughput and quality.
• Support installation and startup of corrugators, converting equipment, material handling systems, and plant infrastructure.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Assist in preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Develop project documentation, technical reports, and operating procedures.
