Job summary

SATO America LLC in Romeoville, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Production Engineer to lead capital investment projects that expand manufacturing capacity, improve efficiency, increase automation, and support growth.

You will manage projects from concept through business case, equipment selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification, and handoff, coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Purchasing, and Suppliers to deliver safe, on‑time, on‑budget results.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
Exposure to flexographic printing or process engineering.
Exposure with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Radius, Oracle), automation technologies, and lean manufacturing.
Preferred: Lean Six Sigma certification.
Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Python, Minitab) and CAD is preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities across all levels of the organization.
Proficiency in databases, spreadsheets, and technical documentation tools.

Responsibilities

Lead capital investment projects from concept through implementation, including scoping and budgeting.
Develop ROI analyses, schedules, and vendor selection for capital projects.
Manage multiple concurrent projects with safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
Specify equipment and automation; coordinate suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.
Plan site prep, utilities, FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ; coordinate installation and startup.
Define acceptance criteria and verify safety, quality, throughput, and cost results.
