Job summary

Chemours is seeking a Capital Project Manager at the New Johnsonville, TN site to lead engineering analyses, cost control, and scheduling for major capital projects. You will work with plant engineering, operations, and maintenance to design and implement new facilities or upgrade existing ones in line with business objectives.

The role demands strong leadership, risk assessment, and the ability to translate business goals into a project scope of work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial experience; preferably in titanium dioxide or capital project management.
  • PMP or equivalent training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering analyses, technical reviews, calculations and planning for capital projects.
  • Manage projects from inception to initial commercial operation; >$50M scope.
  • Coordinate with plant engineering, operations, and maintenance; interface with contractors and vendors.

This position will report directly at our New Johnsonville, TN location.Responsible for performing and leading in engineering analyses, technical reviews, calculations and planning functions. Manages projects that can be focused on building new facilities or improving existing ones and typically range in size from (> 50 million USD). Plans, leads, and manages all respective engineering activities associated with the assigned capital projects over the total project life from inception to initial commercial operation. A member of a project group and is accountable to Engineering Management who offers guidance to assure functional excellence, competency and development.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Work with plant engineering, operations, and maintenance personnel to design and implement new facilities and upgrade existing processes consistent with business objectives.Evaluate alternative design concepts and specific scope options via life cycle cost analysis.Develop discipline specific scopes of work, estimates, and specifications, including all required quality assurance required to satisfy corporate and recognized industrial standards.Develop asset capitalization and project accounting structure within SAP.Develop a project schedule including key design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and readiness to operate tasks.Interface with contractor design resources.Interface with equipment suppliers/vendors to discuss design issues and resolve problems.Interface with construction personnel, Chemours and contractor, to resolve construction issues and monitor field labor productivity.Oversee project cost by monitoring and forecasting project spend and exercising good project change management practices.Ensure all project deliverables are achieved by overseeing and facilitating completion of scheduled project activities.The following is required for this role:Bachelor of Science in engineeringMinimum of 5 years of industrial experience, preferably in either titanium dioxide manufacture or in capital project managementThe following is preferred for this role:Strong leadership skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksAbility to build consensus between different work groups on scopes of workAbility to facilitate meetingsStrong oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of mechanical integrity/quality assurance standardsProject Team Leader Academy attendance or equivalent project management training (PMP certification)Understanding of methodology to develop project economicsAbility to translate business objectives into a project scope of workAbility to lead preparation of estimatesAbility to create integrated schedules and analyze for task duration, sequencing, critical path, etc.Benefits:Competitive CompensationComprehensive Benefits Packages401(k) MatchEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramTuition ReimbursementCommuter BenefitsLearning and Development OpportunitiesStrong Inclusion and Diversity InitiativesCompany-paid Volunteer DayWe’re a different kind of chemistry company because we see our people as our biggest assets.
