Xcel Energy, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Capital Analyst to join our Project Intake team.

You will evaluate software-related capital projects to ensure policy compliance and proper financial classification of project activities, reviewing and routing intake requests through PIT, CAA, and supporting teams. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity with standard working hours, offering a clear path to permanent placement for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in project support, intake coordination, PMO support, or IT governance.
• Strong financial and compliance awareness, especially Capital vs. O&M classification.
• Experience with IT governance and cross-functional coordination.
• Ability to document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Familiarity with JIRA and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and process software-related capital project intake requests for completeness and policy compliance.
• Validate financial classifications, distinguishing Capital vs. O&M expenditures per policy.
• Coordinate timely routing of intake requests through PIT, CAA, and supporting teams.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation within JIRA and SharePoint.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, finance, and governance stakeholders to resolve intake issues.
• Monitor intake workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Support reporting and tracking activities related to project intake status and compliance metrics.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing by documenting processes and best practices.
