Job summary

Interactive Resources seeks a Capital Project Engineer for a high‑volume, 24/7 Maryland manufacturing facility. You will manage capital improvements from concept through installation, commissioning, and startup, delivering on time and within budget.

You will lead scopes, budgets, scheduling, and procurement while coordinating with operations and outside vendors. Proficiency in AutoCAD and project scheduling is required to ensure successful project execution in a demanding industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of capital project engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with AutoCAD and project scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of capital projects from concept through installation, commissioning and startup.
• Develop project scopes, preliminary designs, cost estimates, capital expenditure justifications, and execution plans.
• Lead projects involving new production equipment, process improvements, plant infrastructure, automation, and material handling systems.
• Coordinate with plant operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, production, and external contractors to execute projects in a 24/7 environment.
• Utilize AutoCAD or similar design tools to develop equipment layouts, drawings, and specifications.
• Manage contractors, suppliers, and vendors to meet tech, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Oversee multidisciplinary projects across mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, and automation domains.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency, equipment reliability, and production capacity.
• Ensure compliance with safety, engineering, and manufacturing standards.
