Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Capital Planning Engineer to shape strategic capex decisions for the Boise, Idaho site and other expansion projects. You will analyze investment scenarios, validate budget assumptions, and communicate results to leadership using SAP, Excel, Python, VBA, and PowerBI.

The role requires a strong foundation in engineering, finance, or business, plus 2+ years in capital planning or related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or similar required.
• Advanced degree desirable for higher responsibility in capital planning and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and lead capital investment scenarios and summarize financial impacts for fab expansion.
• Validate and submit capital assumptions and budget justifications throughout planning cycles.
• Influence executive decisions through data analysis, scenario modeling, and recommendations using SAP, Excel, VBA script, Python and PowerBI.
• Lead site capital planning processes, including monthly capital reviews, transfer requests, and savings initiatives.
• Report financial risks, budget discrepancies, and project updates across Finance, Procurement, Planning and Engineering.
• Lead SAP and system optimization opportunities.
