Job summary

IDB Invest, part of the IDB Group, seeks an undergraduate Intern Consultant for a 2-month winter internship in Washington, DC. The role focuses on knowledge management, case analysis and capital markets support, offering hands-on experience in financial markets, data analysis and reporting.

You will work with Investment Officers, develop marketing materials, and build automated reports using Power BI and Excel.

Qualifications

• Active undergraduate student in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, International Development or related discipline.
• Fluency in English with working knowledge of another Bank language (Spanish, French, Portuguese) is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration and time management skills.
• Superior analytical and quantitative skills; knowledge of Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint; Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Division for project origination with marketing materials and institutional presentations.
• Assist Investment Officers with investment committee material and coordination with risk management, environmental and other units.
• Collect and analyze data on debt capital markets and sustainable finance (volume, issuers, structure, pricing).
• Help automate recurring reports, portfolio tracking tools, and project-monitoring processes using Excel, Power BI, and other tools.
• Assist data collection, validation, and analysis related to debt capital markets programs.
