Truist is currently seeking a capital markets attorney to serve as an Associate General Counsel as a part of the Investment Banking and Capital Markets legal team. The role focuses on securities and M&A advisory, providing legal risk guidance and serving as trusted business partner in a large financial services company.

This in-office position may be based in Charlotte, DC, Chicago, or Atlanta, with remote work not available.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice in good standing.
• Eight years of post-bar experience in law firm, government, or corporate settings.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize matters and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide significant internal client legal support day to day.
• Assess legal risk and provide advice or assist in resolving issues.
• Stay current on legislation, regulations, and case law affecting the company and banking.
• Prepare and review documents, represent the company in transactions, and maintain files.
• Identify need for and direct outside counsel when necessary.
• May supervise other legal staff and direct support on cases or projects.
