Job summary

Carr, Riggs & Ingram (CRI) invites rising accounting students to join its Audit Intern program for Summer 2027 in the Capital Markets Group, working closely with partners, managers, and senior associates on active client engagements.

You will gain exposure to financial statement audits, testing account balances, internal controls, and preparing workpapers, with opportunities to participate in client meetings and walkthroughs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
• Intention to pursue CPA licensure upon meeting eligibility requirements.
• Strong academic performance.
• Completion of introductory and intermediate accounting coursework preferred.
• Leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, employment, volunteer activities, or other campus involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participating in financial statement audits and testing account balances.
• Assisting with internal controls testing and SOX considerations.
• Preparing audit workpapers and supporting documentation.
• Participating in client meetings and walkthroughs.
• Performing analytical procedures and financial statement analyses.
• Researching accounting and auditing guidance.
• Collaborating with engagement teams to address accounting and reporting matters.
• Supporting engagements throughout planning, fieldwork, and completion.
