Job description

JOB OVERVIEW:

This role is responsible for identifying capital equipment opportunities within Henry Schein accounts and advancing sales in this segment through the promotion of key company products and offerings. This is to be achieved through independent account calls as well as working with Medical Field Sales Consultants in the territory of responsibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote and sell the organization's products and services within an assigned geographic area, product range, or list of customer accounts to achieve significant sales targets.

  • Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers who may be of strategic importance to the organization; assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services; respond to more complex customer enquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.

  • Identify, research, and contact prospective customers in partnership with Field Sales Consultants to build positive relationships to generate future sales and repeat business.

  • Provide sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.

  • Develop long-term sales plans for key customers and monitor and adapt sales activities so these objectives are met. Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met.

  • Creates proposals, RFPs, and business reviews with key customers.

  • Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives to achieve their sales targets.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Outstanding presentation skills

  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to interpret and deliver data

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • 7-10 years medical sales experience required

  • Communicate effectively with senior management

  • Good negotiating skills and ability to effectively manage outsourced relationships

  • Ability to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities, and manage conflict

  • Ability to cultivate and develop lasting internal and external customer relations

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically, a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically over than 50% within an assigned territory including local and overnight travel. No special physical demands required.
