Job summary

Prince George's County Government's Office of Management and Budget is seeking a Capital Budget Officer (Budget Management Analyst 5G) to lead and oversee capital budget development within the Capital Improvement Program. This senior role requires interpreting complex budget policies and providing strategic analyses to span multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field as specified in the minimum qualifications.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative and budgeting experience; including at least two (2) years in a lead/supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and evaluates the work of professional, para-professional and clerical personnel engaged in budget/management analyses operations.
• Develops, revises and provides budget preparation instruction and guidance to assigned departments and agencies; provides technical assistance during budget preparation.
• Evaluates budgetary submissions for technical compliance and funding implications upon program operations.
• Prepares written and oral presentations describing requested budgets of assigned departments and agencies.

Education

Master’s degree in Accounting, Business/Public Management, Finance, Economics, Quantitative Analyses, or closely related field
