Job summary

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s ASBTDC program seeks a Capital Access Business Consultant to advise entrepreneurs on financing options, prepare financing documentation, and connect clients with appropriate capital resources.

This grant-funded role supports the SSBCI TA program and coordinates with UA Fort Smith, operating from the Fort Smith satellite and UAFS Center for Economic Development. Bachelor’s degree required; extensive lending knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, management, or a related field.
• Experience in commercial lending, banking, small business finance, accounting, business consulting, or entrepreneurship;
• Experience analyzing business financial information;
• Experience working directly with business owners or entrepreneurs;
• Knowledge of business financing programs and capital resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one consulting to entrepreneurs and small business owners seeking financing and capital resources.
• Assess client financing needs and identify funding options, including loans, SBA, microloans, and other financing resources.
• Assist clients with developing business plans, financial projections, cash flow forecasts, and financing documentation.
• Guide clients through the financing application process and prepare information requested by lenders and partners.
• Maintain client records documenting needs, services, recommendations, and progress.
