Job summary

SpaceX, Bastrop, TX, seeks a Sourcing Manager for CAPEX to drive cost management for Starlink equipment and production consumables. You will partner with internal stakeholders to shape sourcing strategies, assess supplier performance, and manage budgets across capital projects.

You will collaborate across teams to optimize Total Cost of Ownership, secure favorable terms, and maintain strong supplier relationships in a fast-moving aerospace environment. Onsite role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, or master production scheduling.
• Alternatively, 9+ years of experience in one or more of the above in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies supporting capital purchases and production consumables.
• Understand production equipment to identify opportunities for cost, space, and process optimization using data analytics.
• Use negotiations to maximize value, reduce cost, and optimize delivery priorities while reducing risk.
• Build and manage project budgets and capitalization plans based on timelines and Total Cost of Ownership.
• Conduct market research, benchmarking, and supplier analyses for assigned categories.
• Communicate equipment status to management including schedules, risks and mitigations; adapt to changes in goals or architecture.
• Track spend, assess budget risk, and provide budgeting analyses for timely decisions.
• Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk and ensure on-time delivery and cost savings.
