Job summary

KRE Group is seeking an experienced CapEx Project Manager to lead capital improvement projects across our multifamily portfolio in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

You will manage projects from concept through completion, coordinating Design, Construction, Operations and Property Management to deliver on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in capital project management with a track record in multifamily or commercial renovations and strong budgeting and scheduling skills.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced, highly organized CapEx Project Manager to lead capital improvement projects across our multifamily portfolio.

From lobby renovations and clubhouse transformations to large-scale building improvements and property upgrades, you'll oversee projects from concept through completion—ensuring they're delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with KRE's quality and design standards.

This role serves as the critical connection between Design, Construction, Operations, Brand, Property Management, contractors, and consultants, helping bring projects to life while minimizing disruption to our residents and onsite teams.

What You'll Do
Lead Capital Improvement Projects
  • Manage the full lifecycle of CapEx projects from planning through project closeout
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and timelines
  • Oversee multiple renovation and improvement projects across the portfolio
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, and solutions
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Lead pre-construction planning, bid coordination, contractor selection, and vendor onboarding
  • Review contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, invoices, and project documentation
  • Conduct routine site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and safety
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, and vendors
  • Ensure design intent and brand standards are maintained throughout every project
Partner Across Departments
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Design, Construction, Operations, Brand, and Property Management
  • Coordinate project schedules with onsite teams to minimize resident disruption
  • Provide project updates, budget reporting, and milestone tracking to leadership
  • Support successful project turnover by ensuring warranties, closeout documents, and project records are complete
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Real Estate Development, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 5–8 years of experience in capital project management, construction management, owner's representation, or related field
  • Experience managing multifamily, commercial, hospitality, or renovation projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and project coordination
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar project management software preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Reliable transportation required

Work Schedule & Travel
  • Monday through Friday, standard business hours
  • Regular travel throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania required
  • Flexibility to support project deadlines, construction schedules, and operational priorities outside of standard business hours when needed
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Ability to regularly walk active construction sites and occupied residential communities
  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate construction environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

  • Frequent travel between project locations
